The Challenge
As the business expanded its online presence and product range, managing inventory and fulfillment from its own office became increasingly impractical.
The growing number of SKUs required significantly more storage space, while the business did not have a dedicated warehouse team to manage stock and daily fulfillment.
At the same time, the operation was becoming more complex. The client needed to support Shopify consumer orders together with B2B requirements, retail replenishment, pop-up stock movements and campaign-related packing.
Rather than investing in its own warehouse, staffing and fulfillment infrastructure, the business wanted an outsourced operation that could support its continued growth.
04
The Fulfillment Setup
Kube manages the client's Hong Kong inventory and fulfillment operation across multiple sales channels and handling requirements.
The setup includes:
- 01
Inventory storage
- 02
Shopify B2C pick & pack
- 03
B2B and wholesale order fulfillment
- 04
Retail replenishment
- 05
Pop-up stock movements
- 06
Relabelling
- 07
Repacking
- 08
Special packing requirements
These requirements are handled within one fulfillment operation, allowing the client to use the same inventory base to support different sales channels and outbound needs.
05
Handling the Operational Complexity
The operation extends beyond routine daily order fulfillment.
Seasonal campaigns and brand collaboration projects may require special packing workflows and the handling of thousands of individual items within a single project.
These projects need to be managed alongside normal Shopify orders, B2B fulfillment and retail replenishment without separating the client's inventory into completely different operations.
Kube coordinates the required warehouse resources and handling workflow based on the project requirements, while maintaining the client's ongoing day-to-day fulfillment operation.
When requirements change or special handling is needed, the client can communicate directly with the Kube operations team to discuss what can realistically be arranged.
06
The Result
By outsourcing warehousing and fulfillment to Kube, the client has been able to continue expanding its online and offline business without operating its own warehouse or maintaining a dedicated warehouse team.
Internal staff can spend less time managing physical inventory and warehouse activities and focus more resources on business, product and brand development.
The client can also support different sales channels and campaign requirements from one Hong Kong fulfillment operation rather than maintaining separate warehouse setups for different parts of the business.
